Video Tutorials

The following video tutorials are educational tools to help users execute basic ECAM functions. Videos 1–4 are highly recommended, as these define the basic steps required for any data analysis using ECAM.

Watching all videos provides comprehensive and practical guidance on the key functionality of ECAM, and will take less than 40 minutes. Any users with dual monitor functionality may want to view the videos on one screen while running through their own example on a second monitor. It is recommended to expand video to full screen for best resolution.

Essential Data Pre-Processing Steps

1. Introduction (3:38)

  • Select data to be analyzed
  • Initial ECAM processing of data

2. Definition of Points (4:01)

  • Map each input data column to a defined category (e.g. map “kW” to “electric meter”)

3. Create Schedules (4:10)

  • Define a building’s operating schedule, including day, week, and annual schedules

4. Input Dates for Comparison of Pre and Post (1:59)

  • Input an energy efficiency project’s start and end date so ECAM can analyze the project’s impact

  • Create time-series charts, showing energy use and ambient temperature

6. Load Profiles (3:20)

  • Create daily load profiles for a specific time period, including day, month, year, day type, and a range of dates set by the user

7. Scatter Charts (6:41)

  • Create scatter charts plotting energy use against ambient temperature, based on occupancy or date range

8. Load Duration Charts (3:32)

  • Create histograms or point frequency distributions showing hours in ambient temperature bins, based on a number of criteria
